As a CORE Family Therapist, you will be primarily responsible for providing therapeutic counseling as defined by DBHDD guidelines.
This individual will serve families in alignment with the goals of the program:
to improve the individual child's and/or adolescent's ability to self-recognize and self-manage behavioral health issues, as well as the parent's and/or responsible caregivers' capacity to care to care for their children; and provide therapeutic services directed toward the restoration, development, enhancement, or maintenance of functioning of the identified client and/or family unit.
ESSENTIAL JOB
Responsibilities:
Provide in-home and school-based clinical treatment/therapeutic counseling, data collection and reporting, assessment and treatment planning in a thorough and timely mannerConduct therapeutic counseling services in a variety of settings convenient to the child and family including foster home, parental home, school, or communityDevelop goals and treatment objectives for clientsComplete thorough biopsychosocial assessment of clients at intake and schedule reassessment, as neededComply with service definition and guidelines outlined in the DBHDD Provider manual for therapeutic servicesMaintain clear and concise documentation of treatment effortsKeep up-to-date and accurate client progress notes for all clinical and counseling related activities and submit weekly production reports to supervisor in a timely manner in accordance with contract requirement, agency expectations, and program policyEffectively utilize appropriate systems for data gathering, submission, and tracking client services rendered in accordance with time-bound expectations based on contract requirements, agency expectations, and program policyAttend court hearings and proceedings, panel reviews, Individual Service Plan (ISP) meetings, Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings, and family team meetings in accordance with request from third parties regarding clientsDeliver client centered services and/or interventions with ongoing evaluations to meet changing needs and abilities, such as referrals to alternative services as neededConduct weekly sessions with clients and families or as outlined in the therapeutic treatment planEstablish and maintain referral and community resources;Meet pre-defined and stipulated billable hours of minimum hour requirements per week as defined by supervisor and program expectationsFacilitate flexible appointment times outside of regular business hours, and work nontraditional hours in the community, as neededAttend weekly meetings with supervisor to consult on cases, to review case plan and direction, and to evaluate client participation and progressKeep abreast of community resources and refer families for support, as needed;Participate in on-call system as dictated by program needsStay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social servicesStay up-to-date on treatment modalities and complete trainings as required by funding sources, by attending conferences, seminars and journal readingComplete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field of study from an accredited collegeAt least one (1) year of prior experience in child and family services focused on neglect, trauma, and abuse, strongly preferredMust have a broad knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and methodology of social work as acquired through a Master's level degreeActive professional licensure (LMSW, LAPC, LAMFT, or full licensure) in the state of the work locationPrevious working knowledge of child development and mental health diagnoses with experience in the mental health and/or substance abuse field and populationDemonstrated experience working with children and families from diverse cultures with sensitivity to cultural differences and normsDemonstrated ability with providing excellent clinical, therapeutic, and crisis intervention skills, a plusKnowledge of state, community and agency resourcesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCapacity to engage, respect, and serve a wide range of clients with a nonjudgmental attitude, while empowering the clients servedMust have an ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer serviceAbility to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentialityComputer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functionsActive motor vehicle license and a reliable automobile with adequate insurance coveragePass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
